Hjälpverb
(Modal verbs for beginners)
In this webinar, we will explore one of the most important building blocks of everyday Swedish — hjälpverb (modal verbs). These small but powerful verbs help you express what you can, want to, must, should, or may do, making your communication more natural and effective. Many beginners find modal verbs challenging at first: when to use them, how they change the meaning of a sentence, and how to combine them correctly with other verbs. Together, we will break down the basics and practice using the most common modal verbs with confidence in real-life situations.
You will begin to better understand the logic of the language and feel more confident in situations where you used to hesitate.
Whether you’re preparing for a Swedish exam or improving your daily conversation skills — this webinar is for you!

My name is Svetlana Svensson
I am a teacher of Swedish for foreigners with more than eight years of experience. I am originally from Russia and moved to Sweden in the nineties. I started my career as an elementary school teacher, but soon realized that I wanted to help people who were going through the same things I was: moving to a new country and feeling integrated into a different society.
Over the years, I have taught Swedish to students of different nationalities and levels. I enjoy teaching students from zero to fluency, guiding them all the way! My courses are a total immersion in the language and culture of Sweden. I explain in a way that anyone can understand and I am always happy to help students.
